It is possible that you further compress a JPEG image, but that would cause data loss (will result in distorted image).

If this is what you want, there are plenty of articles on CP that explains image processing and JPEG compression. Just do a search. Drop a line if you need further help.

Also, WinZip apparently has an alrorithm that losslessly compresses JPEG''s, but I doubt it achieves more than 10-20% compression.

Now, if you have a series of very similar images, then you might be in business.

Oh, and if you are trying to compress an image USING JPEG compression, then you could almost certainly compress it down to 1-2KB. But then it doesn''t make sense that you would ask what compression algorithm to use when the one you would be using would obviously be JPEG.
