You are using VB.NET which means that you are using .NET. And none of the OS capable of running .NET has such thing as "DOS mode" or "DOS". You cannot print anything "through DOS", because DOS is not available. Just forget it; there is no such thing. (I hope you are not mixing up "DOS" with "POS" :-))

There is a special class of printers called "POS printers". If you have one, you need to address to manufacturer''s documentation. It''s not really good to answer such questions over over, after so many questions on CodeProject on this topic.
