You need to remove the quotes from the %s AND make sure your parameters are a in a tuple:

insert_stmt = "INSERT INTO mydb.datensatz (Titel) VALUES (%s);" # Removed quotes around %s
data = (titel,) # Added trailing comma to make tuple

cnx.commit()
