You can do this by simply getting the screen width

  public static int getScreenWidth(Context context) {
    DisplayMetrics displayMetrics = new DisplayMetrics();
    ((Activity)context).getWindowManager().getDefaultDisplay().getMetrics(displayMetrics);
    return displayMetrics.widthPixels;
}
