I've just bought a copy of Expression Encoder 4 so that I can do some smooth streaming to the iPhone from my webserver running WIndows Server 2008. The product installs OK but when I try and run it it comes up with an error - "Unable to find wmvcore.dll, if using Windows Server 2008 or later, please install the Desktop Experience". The problem is that even after installing the Desktop Experience and restarting I still get the same error when I launch the program. I've verified that the wmvcore.dll is on the system and I've tried reinstalling Expression Encoder but with no success.

Did you verify that there was a 32bit version of wmvcore?  Do you know the tool Depends?  If so try running it on Microsoft.Expression.Utililites.dll in the \Program files\Microsoft Expression\Encoder 4.0\SDK directory.  It should report what is missing.
