Hi guys,

I''ve got this PC on my network. I can access everything on it on the network but I can''t ping it. I tried pinging with the computer name and the IP adress aswell but It just doesn''t want to ping. I can ping other workstations from it but not it.

What''s happening here Guys??

Yes I do have a firewall installed and then when I go to control panel >> security center >> Windows firewall. Everything is disable there ( greyedout). And on top I see this " Windows firewall is turned off. Your network Administrator is using Group policy to control these settings"

a. You don''t need to have Windows Firewall running.
b. They don''t want you poking your fingers in and altering these settings.

However if you have a network administrator it may well be worth going and asking them why you can''t ping that computer.
