Hi everyone, I have a Toshiba Satellite M50 series laptop fitted with Windows XP. A couple of days ago, after leaving it in "hibernate" mode for about 12 hours I went back to it, opened up some e-mails and then went to turn it off - a small window appeared (never seen it before) which asked me something like do you want to go back to hibernate mode (I cannot really remember exactly what it said), i said no and turned it off as normal. A few hours later I went to start her up and al I got was a briefly flicker of light from the on/off switch then nothing. I found that if I hold the on/off button down for a few seconds longer it will stay on for a slightly longer period, the light in the mouse lights up and the collong fan/motor starts up - then everything goes off again.
A pal of mine says it is almost certainly a Windows problem, I have tried punching the F8 key after pressing the on/off switch.... nothing
