The idea of the program is for it to login to a betfair account, looks at a match, the program has to follow a certain criteria before placing a bet. It has to look at the website every 30 seconds to make sure that the odds haven't changed etc.

Broke it down into 3 steps:

1.Program can log into account
2.Program can look at current matches (info already on website)
3.Program can place bets (therefore can actually act on the account)

Any ideas / advice on how I can start? I'm good at programming but not genius level, is this somthing very advanced.

Not sure how to begin to be honest. (E.g best language, would APIs be needed etc)

(Some background info, I can code in Javascript, Java, Php, html, css, python)
