What do you mean "how"? All you're doing is grabbing whatever data you need, stuffing it into some controls that are going to represent your dashboard and return the view.

There's nothing special about this process in MVC 5. It's the same as any other framework you use for any other application type.

The hardest part of this is picking out a set of controls. I'm using Kendo UI from Telerik. Not bad from a functionality standpoint, but the crap they call "documentation" sucks pretty bad.
