I installed new os on my lenovo laptop which had windows 8.1 . while installing they asked for partition then I did it but I lost all drives which were present in the windows. I am unable to see the drives in Ubuntu can I restore them .I need those files what should I do please help me . I can't do any thing please help me. Can we restore them.
Are drives are lost permanently or can we restore them by installing new os .

If you have repartitioned and reformated the disk - and it sounds like you might have - then you are out of luck, the data is gone, and (barring some very expensive professional services) you will not get it back.
