Since I am running Windows 8.1 and SQLEXPRESS 2008 R2 crashes the machine occasionally, I decided to upgrade to SQL 2012 Express. BIG MISTAKE! The documentation said nothing (that I found) about the fact that SQL 2012 does not run on VS 2008.

I still have SQLExpress 2008 R2 installed on my machine. How do I get VS 2008 to access that without uninstalling and reinstalling SQL 2008 and 2012 express?

By the way. I'm using VS 2008 Professional. Don't want to upgrade. I'm only programming for myself; don't make any money doing it and upgrading is several hundred dollars. In addition, I use Crystal Reports, so I cannot use the Express versions.

Really don't want to uninstall anything. Have VS 2012 Express and SQL 2012 Express runs fine with that.
