Hoping for some help before I open a support case. I've got a 2013 on premise environment with a list containing around 4k items. I have several indexed columns including ones for Serial and asset numbers. I'm having an issue where the list search randomly shows no results when people search for items that are known to be on the list. The don't get an error message, they just don't get any results.

Checking crawl log shows the items are being crawled with no errors in central admin. Verified no versioning is selected for the items in list setting.

Sometimes running a full crawl fixes it, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it just starts working on its own. Everyone has the same permissions to the list, some people have a problem while others don't. Extremely frustrating to track down solutions.

No errors in event logs on the servers. Tried resetting index on list, site, and whole farm with no change in results.
