We are looking to attach a zone apex custom domain to our consumption azure function app. When I attempt to connect the domain via an A record in the portal, I get a message (roughly) saying I can't attach an A record to a Consumption Function App.

I read that the Azure DNS Alias functionality, coupled with an Azure Traffic Manager is a way to do this. However it appears this isn't working correctly.

There is the guide for doing it on a standard app service (I can't include the link as I need to be verified somehow), but the same steps don't seem to work correctly for a consumption app. I just get 404's when I hit my root domain.
