I have been trying to verify the custom domain in Azure AD for a couple of days now.

I made the required entry in our DNS servers and verified the entry sing mxlookuptoolbox.com and ran the following script on Azure powershell

First, go to https://www.whois.net/ and verify that your DNS is accessible in public. You can either register your custom domain with your domain registrar or prepare a non-routable domain as explained here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office365/enterprise/prepare-a-non-routable-domain-for-directory-synchronization
