Our domain is stuck in pending domain approval state for 24 hours. We tried this last week and it was stuck in this state for several days (deleted it and started over again). The custom domain has a CNAME pointing to the endpoint, so approval should be

Also, just to clarify, Is this occurring after you have completed the Associate the Custom Doman with your CDN Endpoint?
