I am new to Azure, however I managed to create a static web site and having uploaded to my storage account. Everything is working fine so far, then I decided to map my website with my custom domain (purchased 3rd party). I followed all the instructions provided by Azure related documentation web pages and managed to create an endpoint on my CDN profile and then created a custom domain. But when I tried next to enable the custom https option it stuck for more than 10 hours already at the step 2. 'domain validation'. I did not get any error.

To better assist you, just to clarify, It appears that you’re referring to this document for the process and hosted the website content directly from the storage container and not on an Azure App Service WebApps (which this forum is dedicated). As mentioned in this document process 'Using the Azure CDN to access blobs with custom domains over HTTPS', you need to point your CDN to the primary static website endpoint as opposed to the primary blob service endpoint. You might need to wait a few minutes (refresh the Portal and re-try) before your content is visible as the CDN configuration is not immediately executed.

Just to highlight, for redirecting HTTP traffic to HTTPS, requires the use of Azure CDN premium offering from Verizon. Further, as mentioned in the document 'Override HTTP behavior with the Azure CDN rules engine' make sure that the rule is applied correctly and review the document section ‘HTTP to HTTPS redirection’.
