Hi everybody,

I am interested in using Azure to help me create an AI program that could translate video of American Sign Language to English and vice versa. I have 5 deaf family members and I have been a sign language interpreter for 10 years.

I am looking into the Azure Cognitive Services and am wondering if this would be the best way to approach the problem? I would greatly appreciate any advice.

Hello,

I have found some interesting research in this area done by our research team using Kinect a while ago, I would recommend you to go through this blog.

Here is another recent publication proposing a large dataset of signs which can be used to build the required translation using computer vision.

Here is a recent workshop that was conducted at Redmond by one of our Researcher. I would recommend you to go through her site and connect with her to help the community.
