Installation of Visual Studio was successful. Everything works OK except dataset editor. I get this message when trying to open the dataset editor - Value cannot be null. Parameter name: instance.

Did you try to open a previous project or a new project and meet this issue?

According to the error message, please have a try with the following that some other community members shared before:

1. Right click the project name and choose ‘Properties’, change the target Framework version to 4.5 or 4.6/4.61 to have a try. (Back up your project before)
2. If you used the Telerik Reporting component, please removed and added again, for more detail information, please check this doc.
