I am trying to copy data from an FTP server to Azure Blob Storage using the FTP connector.

Testing the connection works fine and I can even browse the FTP directories using the Azure Data Factory Web App. However, when I trigger my pipeline, I get the following exception:

From implementing the copy activity as a custom activity, I learned that the source FTP server is a bit nasty. It does not support all of the handy FTP command for file listing etc. Given this and the error message, I my theory is that the FTP connector in ADF requires some commands that the FTP does not support.

Can you give any advice on what the requirements of the FTP connector are?

This does not seem to be about permissions. As I said, I can even browse the folders of the FTP form the ADF web app. It also works fine running a custom activity with Azure Batch.
