I want to create a virtual switch in Azure. Connect VMs together independent of Azure DHCP and other Azure services.

The scenario would be a VM running a virtual router distro with 2 NICs, WAN and LAN (the virtual switch). That VM will handle ALL the networking inside that subnet. Core infrastructure (ad, dns, dhcp, +++) would be connected to the virtual switch and internet access would be given trough the virtual router VM.

对于那些熟悉VMware的人来说，等效的解决方案叫做vSwitch。

For those of you that are familiar with VMware the equivalent solution there is called vSwitch.

Hi Ole,

You can create VM with virtual Route which is present in Marketplace or bring your own Image. You can manually configure AD, DNS in Azure but you will not be able to manage DHCP in Azure.
