I created a VM ("VM1") associated with a subnet1 which is associated with one of my NSG's, say NSG1. Now my expectation is that the inbound/outbound rules of NSG1 will apply to this VM.

However, I noticed that when this VM is created, a "default" NSG appears, and it takes the for "Servername"-nsg. And it appears that the inbound/outbound rules of this NSG are in effect for my VM, not of NSG1. For e.g. NSG1 is set to allow RDP, which the "default" NSG is not, and I cannot RDP.

I wanted help in understanding what this "default" nsg is, where it's coming from, and how I can prevent if from being created, if possible. I did not see anything related to this in the documentation.

Hi, 

基本上，您可以将NSG与您的VM的子网和NIC相关联。

Basically, you can associate NSG to subnet and NIC of your VM. 

在您的情况下，您需要将默认NSG与VM的NIC取消关联，然后将NSG1与NIC关联以实现所需的配置。 

In your case, you need to disassociate your default NSG from your VM's NIC and then associate your NSG1 to the NIC to achieve desired configuration.
