Hi,

We have a VMSS that we want to take backup of & replicate the same to a DR location.

Now, we know that we cant use ASR for performing this operation.

Please, let us know if there's a way to;
1. Backup of Scaleset disks

您好，

Most of workloads which are deployed in Virtual Machine scale sets  will be stateless applications. VMSS is also meant for that.  Virtual machines in the scale sets can come on go frequently. So Its not recommended to state in the Disk.

If we want to to initial configuration of that VM when its created, We need to use custom script extension or a custom image. We should not depend on the data available in the VM's. We can have data disks though. You can also have a azure file share which is attached to all the VM's in the scale set and shares the state stored in Azure files. In that case we can replicate Azure files easily.
