Hello Azure Support,
I had previously signed up with MS Azure but must say extremely disappointed to find used up my free (compute, hrs. storage time allowed etc.) without been able to shutdown/stop services associated with various components associated with my account. It was no easy to know and find where and how stop services when not in use.
All I (and may others I know) like to have simple one screen/option to stop all resources/services associated to account so no surprise as often forget and/or don't know which services still running/using up credits etc.
I understand and been told few times Azure is massive etc. but must say having this (one click to stop/shutdown resources ) option will help not just me many others feel same way .
Note: I am surprised until now (at least I don't know) there is no such feature option.

I, and I think everyone who ever left a VM running when they were starting out in the cloud feels your pain. It can initially be confusing when you are or are not being charged for a resource. Let me run through some of the key options available to you when it comes to managing your resource costs. Hopefully this will make your next experience significantly better!
How do I find what I'm running?
First, let's locate your resources. Everything you have created will be in a Resource Group. If resources are like files on your computer, resource groups are like folders. You can search for your resource groups by:
- Going to the Azure Portal
- Click on "All services"
- Type "resource group" into the search box
- Click on "Resource groups"
Now that you can see all of your resource groups, you can click on each resource group to get more information, and to manage your resources.
Stopping services
Each service has different options for temporarily stopping or changing usage. For example, Virtual Machines need to be properly shut down and Application Insights can using sampling, or other data volume reduction.
When you are starting out and just getting used to the services, typically you want to delete the service after you've had a chance to experiment with it. The following is how you delete a service to stop charges:
- Navigate to the resource group you want to delete (see above)
- Click on "Overview"
- Click on "Delete resource group"
- Follow the instructions to delete the resource group (this will permanently delete the resources and stop billing)

In each resource group, you have cost management tools including "Cost analysis" which will give you real time reports on what the resource group costs.
