I am testing a trial on Azure AD, testing the feasibility to use it for around 100 odd end user devices.

It is not possible to administer group policy to computer through AAD.  You may need to consider Azure AD join and Intune for MDM management.  Please refer to Azure AD and Microsoft Intune: Automatic MDM enrollment in the new Portal.
