Provisioning process went very smoothly until the very last step

I can't find any doc on the error code

Server job with command name NewServerEndpointWithDatePolicy and id d1e233d2-ae70-413c-9507-38ca8b5f42bb failed with -2147024894.

A possible correlation:  Installation of the Agent lingered for 6 months, as prerequisites were not installed.  Currently looking at 280Gb of etl (log) files that i need to figure out how to remove.  I was hoping the once syncing actually started, it would flush.
