We like to use VM Snapshots for backups and restores.

Technically everythings works fine, but the process of creating and restoring backups is a way too long for our needs - almost 2hours each.

Each backup creation and restore needs interaction with the vault - to copy the backup into the vault and to load it from. These processes are the issue, they need the time stated above. The step to create and restore the snapshot itself runs in under 2 Mins.

From zu Azure support we got some hints, but everything is fine. We discover this issue also with a complete fresh machine (with installed OS only). We tried with D1v2 Azure machine without additional stuff.

Whats the trick to get these processes fast?
