Getting started with Intune (new admin) - and so far so good on all the MDM controls. However, when I look at Devices - all of our Windows 10 devices are appearing in Intune.  This may seem like a simplistic question, but are they appearing in there because of Azure AD Sync running, or do they appear in Intune automatically because Office 365 has been licensed from those desktops and laptops?  We are installing the Office 365 Pro Plus local install (click to Run) version - so I'm assuming that they are being inventoried in Intune because of the licensing.  Is that accurate?

In Intune - All devices shows the enrolled devices (enrolled into Intune), Azure AD devices shows the Azure AD joined devices or devices registered in Azure AD. Azure AD Connect has an option to also sync and register devices in Azure AD (so thats why the Windows 10 devices would have appeared). Also if a user signs into Office 365 ProPlus then this registers the device in Azure AD as well.
