In Visio 2010, when you start an org chart (NOT via the wizard) and you drag-in the first smart shape (Position, Executive, etc.) Visio displays what I would call an animated tool tip.  It appears like a message box whose title-bar says "Connecting shapes."  It shows an animation of a position-shape being repeatedly dragged onto an executive shape, with the caption saying "To connect shapes, drop a shape on top of the superior shape."  As an instructor, I find this handy, in that, before I even mention this process, students see the demonstration for themselves.

Ribbon -> Org Chart -> Display Options
