Is there a way, preferably easy way, to set up the Lync client to automatically answer an incoming audio or video call?

I am pretty sure there is not a setting within the Lync client and I am not familiar at all with Lync SDK.

Lync SDK can do this.  Simply hook into the ConversationAdded event and then once it gets raised, get the AVModality object for the conversation and call Accept on it.
