Folks,  

 

We've developed our own client that integrates w/ OCS R2 via UCC.  When logging in or setting presence through our client we observe that it is correctly propagated and reflected in OC clients but is NOT reflected correctly in SharePoint or Outlook.  This is obviously not an issue w/ the OC client. 

 

Was wondering if there are specific UCC API calls that need to be made to properly propagate presence to Sharepoint, etc.

The SharePoint and Outlook integration with presence is done by calling into the Office Communicator automation API.  If OC is not running and logged in on the user's desktop, then neither Outlook nor SharePoint pages will display presence.

There's not really anything that you can do in your UCC app to fix this.  You MIGHT ( and I emphasize MIGHT) get this to work if your client implemented and exposed the whole of the OC automation API.  But everyone that I have heard of that tried ran into lots of issues and could not get it to work.
