Hi,

image you have organization with client applications, one your web service connected to all these clients provide some service to them. This service is connecting to foreign web service. Communication between your and foreign web service is by signed XML SOAP messages and else in SSL. For signing XML and opening SSL is used commercial certificates stored in users tokens at local computers. Save the certificates to Web Service physical location isn't possible thanks  safety of these certificates. Is there possibility to use Web Service this way ? I don't know how propagate the web service security requirements for connection to other service to clients computers.

Unless you're stuck using .NET 2.0, you should be using WCF for all new web service development.

I raise this point because the answers to any security-related questions will be quite different for WCF as apposed to old ASMX web services.
