I've been trying to move from SQL server to an XML configuration. It works beautifully on a windows share but does not seem to work on a Filer share (netapp). I keep getting access is denied unable to set permissions (see below). If I am using the configuration wizard, I can't move further, but if I am using the add host script, I still get the error, and if I ignore it the cluster will work.

I ran in the same issue using a DFS based network share. I was able to reproduce the issue on a simple file share on another server.

场景：

- A service account used to configure AppFabric.
- 1 AppFabric Server (service account used to configure the cluster is a local administrator of the machine).
- 1 server bringing a file share to host the XML configuration file (service account hasn't any permissions on the server itself).
- Service account has full control on the share and NTFS security and is owner of the folder.

I made it work by adding the service account to the local administrators group of the server where the file share resides.
Don't ask me why but wichever account is used to create and configure the cluster needs to be local admin of the machine hosting the share even if this account has already full control on the share.
