I know that it is possible to do that using: Word Options -> Add ins -> .... Manage..., however, this current enable\disable method is tedious for customers.

You can perhaps use this option:

Go to:
Word Option->Trust Center->Trust Center Settings->Add-ins

In this uncheck the option "Disable all application level add-ins...".

PS: But this option will disable all the add-ins that are installed.
