DOn't know what caused it , maybe the Update 4 of VS. Anyway the XAML designer does not show any color any longer. I can put anything in the designer, I can see the outline of the selected element. But giving any element border, background or forcolor another color in the designer does not show. The whole designer just stays white

And Blend has the same problem, everything just stays black.

Making XAML design impossible. Running the apps however does show the items with all the colors I have set

Well that's an abnormal behavior that BLEND is showing to you ,

I would suggest if you repair your Visual Studio that might help you, in some cases installations are not done properly , repair is a fine option with it.
