I have been using MS Project for decades and have never had this problem. My task names in one of my standard views have all moved to align along the left side of the column. The Summary tasks are still bold and are still designated that way but the "children" tasks under them will not move to the right and indent properly.  The + and - signs to expand or collapse the information are not there.  Does anyone know how to correct this?

It sounds like the "indent name" option has been disabled. For whatever reason, that option is no longer shown in any of the ribbon commands. However, you can customize the ribbon and add the command to a custom tab. Note, you cannot add it to an exiting ribbon tab. Once it is set, you won't need to mess with it again.
