I am having a really weird problem with the menu bar in IE7.  It started this morning and I don't know why.  This is what happens:  Every time I open IE, the menu bar (File, Edit, View..) appears for a brief second and then disappears.  This also happens when I close a tab.  It happens so quickly that all I see is a flash.  I can enable (unhide) the menu bar by checking it and then the flashing won't occur.  But I really don't want to do that; I want the menu bar hidden.  But this flash of menu bar keeps happening.

Are you pressing the ALT key? 

 

You can try resetting IE to defaults on the Advanced Tab in the Tools->Internet Options dialog.  If that doesn't work, I think you're out of luck.
