For my job we are taking jpegs of floor plans and pasting them into visio and then dropping images onto them. Just doing this as a workaround to having a better cad redone for now. Issue is after saving the visio drawing some of the images i pasted are becoming corrupt or no longer displaying and is just showing as a x that looks like a folded envelope

Please try to add the jpegs with Insert Picture option instead of pasting in Visio:

In Visio Page, go to Insert tab, in the Illustrations group, select Pictures, locate your local picture and click Open to insert it.
