I had to "TWICE" have my Surface exchanged due to freezing problems. It has nothing to do with sleeping issues. The experts at the store in Mission Viejo Ca. told me the second time it appears to be an Application problem. One of the operating files is being wiped out? I was told the last time (over a month ago) by the Developmental Manager that someone in the store would be working on the issue and would get back with me as to the cause. I called the store yesterday and talked to the manager. He told me the person assigned to the task would call me back in about 15 min. As of Sunday the 3rd i have not heard from anyone? Big RED flag. What is the issue that no one wants to talk about. In the mean time i cannot load any application onto the surface in fear that it will freeze again. Each time it gets exchanged it costs me several hours to get back all the info i lost. I bought this as a business tool primarily to help me in the field perform my work. I use an excel spreadsheet and after about 6 hours of input (saving every 5 min.) the surface froze again. This time it came back after a restart. After a $1000.00 cost for the unit, insurance, and all of the other stuff, it would be nice if someone would tell me what the issue is before it fails again in the middle of a project and i loose 6 hours work?? There are a lot of smart guys at Microsoft, i have to believe that someone has the answer, would you like to share?

This is very simple. I use the bought the Surface primarily for my business. I use Excel running a spreadsheet, not an App to run Excel. The Excel program does not have anything to do with the freezing problem, that has been confirmed by the store. To your point, may it be a hardware or Application problem, it is a Microsoft issue and it does not appear that anyone knows what the issue is or does not want to share that information with me. If i do not load any applications onto the Surface, i dont have a freezing problem. I can run my Excel program on anyones tablet, but since i have a Microsoft Surface it would be nice if someone could solve the problem. They could start by calling me back,
