Hi All,

For development with the second monitor and a classic desktop, I really would like my start menu button back.

I performed [Flying Window]+R (run command), then entered GPEDIT.msc. When the Group Policy Editor launched, I navigated to User Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Start Menu and Task Bar. Finally, I ENABLED "Force Classic Start Menu." Everything else is "Not Configured."

Lo and behold, the setting was not honored after a reboot. There was no start bar, and it surely was not classic.

How does one enable the start menu button on a Surface Tablet running Windows RT?
