Hi,
I am working in a project wherein existing application is running in SharePoint 2010 and DB server is SQL Server 2008 R2. Client has multiple tables, views, stored procedures, functions and jobs in an external database in this server apart from Content DB of
SharePoint. List/Libraries are also used to store some data, however most of the data is stored in SQL Server and accessed via C# code.
Requirement is to move this application to SharePoint Online which includes Migrating the existing Database and redeveloping the application on SharePoint Online.
Please let me know hw can I move this to SharePoint Online and design the backend of this system. I am planning to use Azure as backend and create Provider Hosted Apps.
Any help would be highly appreciable !

About your external database, we just need to buy a server with SQL Server in Azure, and migrate this database to the server. We just need to modify the SQL Server Connection String in C# code or configuration file。
