SyncToy at present makes a lot of assumptions about being installed and having been run in GUI mode at some point in time. This severely limits the cmd line options.

What would really make SyncToy useful for us would be a version that can simply sit on the server and take commands.   We want to be able to run an arbitrary sync on any windows machine with nothing more than a scheduled command to a network exe or else a bat file in the domain startup config.

Similarly we want to be able to execute these commands through something like a python script again without having to assume that SyncToy is installed locally and configured.
