I am trying to find some good material on Commerce Server 2009, but Amazon doesn't seem to have any books (US) and the UK store only has 1 book on CS 2007. Can anybody point me in the right direction to find more technical information or training material. I am basically new to CS and would like to deploy a new Commerce site utilising the platform and SharePoint.

You can find a lot of information on MSDN, the blogs and source code for the web parts in the Default Site. The core systems and the business managers have not changed between 2007 and 2009, so the Commerce Server book you mention will be good background for these areas, but of course it does not cover the new API and the SharePoint integration since these are new features in 2009. You will need to get books on developing with SharePoint if you do not already know this. I would recommend http://www.amazon.com/SharePoint-Developers-Guide-Foundation-2010/dp/1584507063 but since I did some work for Todd on his book, my recommendation is not completely unbiased!
