We have a asp.net website running on an intranet that creates and saves .doc files on the server. With the client computer running Word 07 and older, and IE 8 or older, we don't have any issues at all.

With a client running Word 2010 and IE 8 or newer, when we send the path to the file on the server (\\server\path\file.doc), to be opened on the client in Word, we get erratic results. Specifically we're sending 3 or more files at one time. Sometimes word will open all 3 just fine, like our intentions are. Other times it will open 1 or 2 of them. Sometimes it will open 1, show the other 2, but give blank windows when trying to bring them to focus. Other times IE will show a loss of connection, which refreshing the page causes Word to open the file, just fine.
