I have a desktop and a laptop. Both have Visio 2013 and Office 2016.

SYMPTOMS:

I insert excel worksheet into my visio drawing (Insert, Object, Excel Worksheet). My desktop can open the embedded excel file, it doesn't matter which pc I used to create it. The laptop on the other hand can open the object ONLY if it was created using the laptop AND haven't made any changes to it using the desktop. Once edited using the desktop, laptop can't open it again.

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TWO PC: (Maybe it's the problem?)

When editing the excel using the desktop, it opens Excel window INSIDE Visio window.  Editing using laptop, it opens Excel outside Visio window. Hope this is making sense

Hi,

As far as I know, if you check the "Link to file" option you will open Excel outside Visio window.

Please check if you check this option and get this problem.
