I've just installed synctoy on my Vista Business x64 desktop and I would like to keep it nicely synchronised with my laptop (Vista Business x32). Copying of files works fine, but SyncToy seems to have problems with deleting the files/folders in the right folder in Synchronize mode. It is showing the following error: Cannot write to the destination file. Access denied. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070005 (E_ACCESSDENIED)) Deleting \\etc...

Do I have to set up some special sharing permission on the other side? Does SyncTool have to be installed on both sides in order to work properly?

Welcome to Sync Toy world.

make sure Sync Toy has fully permissions on both folders.

do not modify any file under the folder while synchronizing.

no need to install a duplicate one.
