I've only been able to get primitive types to work (ie. double, int, string, etc).  In my opinion, either the Frame.Navigate(Type target, object parameter) or Frame.GetNavigationState are broken.  Frame.Navigate gives you the impression that you can use any object as a navigation parameter, but if you do, Frame.GetNavigationState throws an exception.
