Hi,

I have a question about developing applications for Office Communicator.
Actually I want to develop an application the same way as it is possible with VSTO to for example Word or Outlook.

I'm avare of the posibility to create custom tabs with web content, but that isn't quite good enough. The documentation I've already looked through is this: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=f1d1a947-6eff-4ac4-8878-f0a77894ac99&displaylang=en

Any suggestions on where to start would be greatly appreciated.

The information in the OC Deployment Guide is pretty much all there is.  The only other option you could look at is using the Context Window URL to cause OC to display a web page "next to" the conversation window but you need a UCMA application in the conversation to make that work.
