Everytime I start up my computer it has updates are ready to be installed and every I click to install these updates then it says updates are being installed few minutes go by then it says the following updates were not installed Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 and .NET Framework 3.5 Family Update for .NET versions 2.0 through 3.5 (KB951847) x86 this has been going on for a couple of months

I have the same problem.
Further,  I think it is hindering the linking of Office 2007 accounting records to Office Outlook Business Contacts. I have spent a lot of money on these MSFT products so that they (including mappoint) would all talk to one another and am getting very frustrated trying to weed my way through one "KB" article after another. From registry cleanups to inability to uninstall the darned things and start over, this is maddening.

Further  diagnosis,
I ran the free "advanced systemscare" program and it asked me to install the Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3 disk. (something about DLL Cache missing files). I do NOT have this disc. Further I am not even running XP Professional. This is on a laptop (HP DV9000) running XP Media. Please -- some advise would be nice.
