I am using Windows XP Pro with SP/2 v2002.   HP Compaq DC5700 desktop computer.

Was using IE7 and surfing the Internet. I was attempting to update ActiveX and Flash player when a message stated that a memory address could not load.

So, everytime I tried to open IE7 or My Computer, I would see the memory message and the windows would close.

I tried uninstalling IE7, reboot, re-install.  No change, so I tried a System Restore.

 

Internet Explorer now comes up, but the Menu bar is missing.  I have also noticed that the Backspace key does not work nor does the Delete key, and, when I highlight a line of documents, the right click to Copy does not work nor the Ctrl+C or Ctrl+V.

 

I have searched high and low trying to figure out what to do. I think the only thing left is to reformat my hard drive, but I thought I would take a chance in here to see if there are any brilliant minds that could help me with this problem.

Pressing the Alt key does not bring up the Menu bar. I have my Address bar and nothing more. If I right click the top of IE, I get the options to Move, Size, Minimize, Maximize and Close, nothing more.

 

Thanks in advance if anyone is able to help me out of this pickle I've gotten myself into.

Fixed my own problem.

If anyone finds this and would like to know, here is what I did.

     Exploring the IE7 software, I reran IE7Setup.exe, Ren_reg_IE7.vbs and IE7AddComponents.vbs. After the .vbs ran,  

     my PC restarted and everything is now back to normal.
