We are running this on a Filter Driver for silicon that has absolutely nothing to do with smart cards..or IPv6..or CD-ROM's..or microphone endpoints. What is the purpose of having these devices installed and tested when the target device for our HCK is completely unrelated? Those devices should be requirements at a platform level HCK test for Windows 8.

Did you try running HCK with your driver?. I dont think that requirement list is common for all devices. If you run for a smartcard reader then Athena card becomes mandatory. We ran HCK for a USB driver it never required a smartcard reader or athena card.
